2024 8 week course in Pottery Wheel Throwing - Class for beginners - 2.5 hrs

DETAILS
A short course in ceramics for those that want to take a project from conception to completion. Pottery involves multiple steps over a course of time. Within this short course we will:
Week 1. Throwing pieces on the pottery wheel
Week 2. Trimming and turning pieces
Week 3. Throwing more pieces on the pottery wheel
Week 4. Trimming and turning further pieces
Week 5. Firing pieces (Bisque Firing - no class)
Week 6. Glazing pieces with a combination of finishes
Week 7. Firing pieces (Glaze Firing - no class)
Week 8. Finishing pieces to take home
Each step I will guide you through the processes of pottery and the different avenues you can take at each step, making your journey truly unique.
The course will run over 8 weeks but consist of 6 sessions of up to 2.5 hrs each (please note Week 6 and Week 8 sessions may run shorter and depend on finishes chosen).

Starting Monday January 15th and again Monday May 6th
12pm - 2:30pm Mondays
Starting Friday January 19th and again May 3rd
6pm - 8:30pm Fridays
Starting Saturday January 20th and again May 4th
1pm - 3:30pm on saturdays.
Classes will run at the same time each week. Terms will begin most likely in the first week of the month excluding January. For more details please see the calendar to check available start days.
All materials are supplied including clay, tools, towels and aprons. Please wear comfy clothes that you are happy to have splattered in clay - it's half the fun!
Each class has a maximum of 4 people so our sessions are fully immersive with lots of guidance. A minimum of 2 people will be needed to run the classes, if in the case only 1 person books into a class, a full refund will be given or a reschedule into another class will be organised.
ACCESSABILITY
Woodside Ceramics is wheelchair access friendly. To operate a potter's wheel a combination of hands and a pedal like an accelerator is used on the floor. Help can be given to assist all patrons. If you are booking into this course you are committing to be able to attend for the duration of the course. We are unable to offer make up classes in our courses.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Please note you are unable to reschedule the 8 Week Course. Lessons can be transferred to another person before the course commences, however no refunds will be issued.
